MISD Appreciates Its Counselors
J.R. Irvin Elementary students Jordyn, Sheridan and Ethan enjoy their group time with Elizabeth Adkins, who has a total of 16 years experience as a school counselor.
National School Counseling Week 2012, sponsored by the American School Counselor Association, highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
“The combination of our 17 counselors’ training and experience makes them an integral part of the total educational experience,” said Judy Walling, Assistant Superintendent for Learning.
Midlothian ISD is honored to have such outstanding counselors. Please take the time to recognize your school counselor for the tireless work they do on behalf of all the students in MISD.
Mentors Make a Difference
National Mentoring Month is a campaign held each January to promote youth mentoring in the United States. Midlothian High School is fortunate to have mentoring programs that positively impact student success. PALS (Peer Assistance and Leadership) and Partners in P.E. both involve 60 student leaders mentoring 285 students. The PALS travel to all MISD campuses and spend one-on-one time with their buddy. Panther Clawset
Please note the new hours of operation at the Panther Clawset teacher resource room located at the Administration Building.
Open Tuesdays only, from 8am - 4:30pm.
All MISD teachers/staff have a monetary account through their campus budget to use for supplies such as various letter dies, laminating machines, poster maker, butcher paper, binding machine, button maker, cardstock and much more. All fees will be assessed. The Clawset is restricted to MISD employees only. This decision is due to limited supplies, budget constraints, and safety liabilities of the equipment.
Print Shop
MISD conveniently has a print shop with one duplicator and three copiers designed to produce large amounts of print jobs. The print shop stores different colors of paper: light blue, light pink, yellow, light green, and goldenrod. All other color of paper, transparencies and card stock must be provided by the sender. We have two different sizes of white paper: 8½X11 and 8½X14. The district encourages teachers and staff to submit print jobs that exceed 15 or pages per master to the print shop.
