Registration Relay Begins Feb. 8
February 20, our early release day, will be Registration Relay.
Students will receive their choice sheets 1st period and will gather signatures throughout the shortened day.
Students will have their teachers recommend and sign for next year's courses.
If accepted into an application course, approval forms should be in the student's hand on or before Feb 20. Those forms must be attached to the choice sheet taken up by the 7th period teacher.
Online Yearbook Sales Ends
If you did not order a 2012 yearbook, you have missed the deadline. February 16 was the last day to purchase one. The plant usually runs extras, but we have no way of knowing how many until we receive our order at the end of May. Any extras we have will be sold for $80 cash only. We do not keep a waiting list. We will sell any extras we receive on a first come, first serve basis. We will post our sale date on the high school website and in announcements. It will be sometime at the end of May. Again, we do not keep a waiting list.

New Learning Management System at MHS
In previous years, Midlothian High School used Homework Online to communicate academic assignments to students and parents in their subjects. Starting this 2011-12 school year, MHS is implementing Blackboard, in place of Homework Online, to accomplish the same task, while reaching students in new ways... on their personal devices, connecting with students and parents more effectively.
Currently, when students and parents visit http://misd.blackboard.com (First-time users, download FAQ sheet [PDF]) they will see every course taught at MHS this year, instead of the seven classes in their schedule.
Once student schedule changes are complete, we will assign each student and/or parent a personal password and login for Blackboard. Once this occurs, students/parents will only have access to the seven classes in their current schedule.
MHS is excited about the possibilities Blackboard provides teachers and students related to learning. We feel that once you get accustomed to the new system, you too will see the academic benefits Blackboard can provide your student.
We appreciate your patience as we transition from Homework Online to Blackboard this school year.

Community Service Hours Available
All Midlothian High School students must complete at least 10 hours of community service over their high school career. This community service is a graduation requirement for Midlothian Independent School District and part of Board Policy. The program is administered through social studies and details are explained in the community service program flyer and service form. [PDF]
